Insight Advising
Helping you navigate the post-secondary landscape.
When considering your options for post-secondary education, there are many decisions you need to make along the way. Insight Advising offers services to help students with disabilities on their post-secondary journey. We offer consultation on post-secondary school and program selection, preparing for success in post-secondary, navigating accessibility services and funding for students with disabilities, and academic strategy coaching.
Although all services are offered remotely, it is important to acknowledge that we are settlers on the treaty territory of the Snuneymuxw First Nation. Where do you live?
Who is Insight Advising?
Insight Advising is a small academic advising outfit operated by me, Megan Wurster. After fourteen years of working in post-secondary education as an academic advisor and accessibility advisor, I have noticed patterns in the barriers that students face when it comes to program selection, preparation, academic and learning strategy, and advocating for their accessibility needs. Some students land in the wrong program, some are unprepared academically, many students face accessibility barriers, and some students just need a little help with executive function in order to be successful. Given my experience and dedication to student success, I created Insight Advising to address these needs.
I have worked at the University of Colorado Boulder, University of British Columbia, Vancouver Island University, and University of Victoria, and have maintained an active membership in NACADA since 2014, including serving on the regional steering committee since 2021.
